Retailer Area

Criteria - Proposals Revised 21st August 2009

The Association of British Airsoft believes that the airsoft retail industry contributes to the running of the UKARA scheme, which we would like to see remain in use to provide an "alternative" option for player registration. As such, we do not require airsoft retailers to provide a financial contribution, though we encourage a contribution to access our verification systems. However, retailers are required to register their business with the AOBA to access our verification system and documentation.

Businesses must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scheme:

  • Must offer trade to a UK resident
  • Must follow AOBA Code of Conduct for the sale of RIFs.
  • Must agree to privacy terms issued by the AOBA
  • Must promote responsible trading of RIFs
  • Retailers are asked to provide a minimum of one exclusive discount to AOBA members each month. An offer form will be available to Retailers allowing them to submit offers when they have them. This will be entered into our mail shot program (See below). AOBA will monitor discounts supplied by retailers.
  • Alternatively Retailers may make a donation payment to AOBA recommended at £100.
  • The association provides an active and well received mail shot programme which registered retailers may participate in and advertise their products or services. A mail shot form will be made available for the submission of offers, discounts and items Retailers wish to promote.
