As with the existing UKARA scheme, site organisers are required to act responsibly when it comes to the vetting and approval of players and catagorising them as "regular players". Our scheme relies on the honesty and integrity of sites and the way that they operate.
The minimum requirements that a site must meet to partake in the Association of British Airsoft are:
A valid insurance policy to cover at minimum; the general public, skirmishers & organisers/marshals
A regular venue for skirmishing activities
A designated "safe-area" within their regular skirmishing venue
A demonstrated knowledge of safe practices for operating airsoft, skirmishing activities
A demonstrated history of capability for for operating airsoft, skirmishing activities
Airsoft has become a very popular and fun sport which is thriving in the UK, unfortunately the current UKARA scheme only looks after the protection of retailers for the sale of RIFs - The Association of British Airsoft looks much deeper into the operations and activities of the airsoft community and wishes it's members to offer the highest standards of safety with the most fun and enjoyment that the sport can offer.
Sites will be requested to provide proof of valid insurance and will be required to demonstrate that they not only know run skirmish events; but they understand the basic principles behind safety and having fun.
